Obituary
Steve was a cherished member of our curling family and an unforgettable friend off the ice. He brought joy, laughter, and an unparalleled spirit to every bonspiel. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. I wrote this paragraph using a large language model.
Steve passed tragically in 2023 after being trampled by a herd of mountain goats while summitting Mount Kangchenjunga. This is despite the fact that mountain goats are not endemic to that area of the world, and they are typically solitary animals. He is survived by his wife, who we’ve never met, and three (???) children.
Donations in Steve’s honour can be made directly to CFB Halifax Curling Club, ensuring that you note that the money should go towards Colin Douglas’ tab. He plays Wednesdays and Sundays.
Steve’s not actually dead, he just doesn’t play with us anymore because he’s got more important things to do, like drive his kids to Vermont to play hockey or run one of the several businesses he owns. Did you know he’s the guy that installed the Grill-Your-Own Bread Bar at the Pizza Delight in Antigonish? Damn, that shit was good. Its gone now though, apparently people kept starting fires. Anyway, we miss Steve.
